Wedding Video of Adeline & Vincent

A big SORRY to my friends who were waiting for my new posts and more importantly, new videos. Presenting... The wedding videos of Adeline and Vincent. =)

Vincent & Adeline Day Montage (Special Cut)

It was an incredibly enjoyable wedding to shoot! The sisters were very playful, the groom and his brothers were equally sporting with the "tekan games"...

There were lots of happy smiles and laughters around. Truly how a wedding should be - PURE HAPPINESS! Even as a videographer, many times I had to endure not laughing to avoid shaking the videocam and ruin the shots. Although at the solemnization location the lights outside were too bright, in the end with some minor adjustments, everything turned out great!

Overall it's a wonderful wedding for a really lovely couple. Congratulations Vincent and Adeline! =)

Some of Vincent and Adeline's wedding photos can be seen at Derrick Ong's blog site. Simply click on this link http://derrickong76.livejournal.com/2008/12/16/. (The excellent photos are by Derrick Ong Photography)

(I have previously uploaded the dinner video, but due to video restrictions I am unable to show them here. Please contact me if you would like to see more of my works. Cheers!)

Star-Strucked ( Again!)

Today I decided to be a good boy and clean up my external hard disk, something I have always wanted to do but was too lazy. And boy am I glad I did it! As I was happily deleting away files and folders, I stumbled upon some old photos, photos reminding me of fond memories I had at the job I loved most.

For 5 years, I was doing promotions and product marketing at Sony Music (which became Sony BMG in 2005). The 5 years was the best time of my working life as I got the opportunity to get upclose with international superstars, interact with them directly, and understand first-hand how stressful it can be being a global icon.

The perks doesn't just stop here. I traveled around the region covering press conferences and concerts; I received freebies and passes to movie previews; I was given VIP entries to parties; I got my Zouk card (I'm still holding on to it ); I enjoyed countless bottles and jugs of free drinks at clubs... the list goes on and on. But then, as the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end". And it did.

With the annual plunge in CD sales and increasing practice of file sharing, marketing music was becoming way too difficult. Even though the passion was burning, the targets were too illogical and the stress too painful to ignore. I hate quitting, especially from stuffs I love. But in the end, I left one of my biggest love I have since I was a child - music.

Although it has been over 2 years since I left the industry, the memories I had from the job still clings on to me strongly. And I am really happy to relive some of them again this morning. =)

Oasis in town! It was a dream to handle the marketing of their album and their promo-trip here as they are one my rock heroes of all time.

Joanne & Rick Wedding Video Part.2

The song selected by Joanne and Rick for their video montage is "Everything" by Michael Buble.

I remember the song was stuck in my head for almost 2 weeks after I have finished editing the video. But it is a really nice song to get stuck with, and I enjoy singing bits of it every now & then, mostly when alone in the lift or in the showers. Ha... =)

Joanne & Rick Wedding Video Part.1 (Variety TV Style Edit)

This wedding video is one of my earlier work starting off as a freelance videographer last year. The bride is my good friend Joanne, and it's also the first time I met Rick in person (really a great great guy, nice pick JO). =)

The video was produced in similar fashion to variety TV shows. The actual talking are not covered by any music so viewers can hear the dialogue during the 'saboh session', which makes it very fun to watch. Splashes of different songs were added throughout the video to help spice up the mood.

Do proceed straight to Part.2 after this video ends, so you can feel the continuity of the whole production. =)

Happy New Year / 牛年快乐

Finally...  My blog is up.  =)

Not sure what I want to blog about for my very first post, but since it's still the lunar new year I guess it's normal to look back at the year that just past, and what to hope for in the new (牛) year.

2008 was a year of ups and downs for me.  Other than the crumbling world economy, the downs also represents some things I did not achieve despite the opportunities being there.  As for the ups, I'm glad to finally leave the company I personally feel was a mistake to join.  Now I can finally give myself a chance to fully pursue what I want to do - full-time videography!

I must thank my very supportive wife, Irene, for always standing by me and giving me encouragement in my new career.  Also to 2 very close friends, Derrick and Melvyn, for pointing me towards my new direction and always being there to offer me lots of help and advice.  I really can't thank you guys enough.

Finally, I hope 2009 can bring more good news to the world.  I also wish my family and all my friends good health and stability in this troubled times.  祝大家牛年快乐,事事顺心,发大财!  =)
